Ok i've posted this before but never really got an awnser  :(
I bought my discovery and the cigarette lighter or clock have enevr worked. The heater lights and dash lights all work, and there is even a light surrounding the cigarette lighter. However, ive tried to plug in my phone and sat nav but no matter how far i push it in it will not charge :( Even though the light works. Ive cleaned the cigarette lighter out, to no avail. In addition, my clock doesnt work either, and have taken the plug out and plugged it back in. I would ideally like it to work as i need it for kayaking and my hobbies! Can anyone help me with any of these problems, without having to rip half the dash out! I've also got lpg and a swith for petrol and gas but this wouldnt effect it would it?
PLease help
Sam :)

The clocks on 200 Discovery's always fail.
Remove it and check to see if there is power going to it with a testing light.
If there is, the clock is dead
If there's no power check all the fuse's.
I'd remove the cigar lighter and check the power.
Then check the fuse's.

The fuses are behind the plastic trim under the steering wheel, there should be a legend imprinted on the trim when you drop it down.
The light on the cigar lighter runs off the side lights/dash so will operate regardless of whether the fuse serving the cigar lighter is blown or not.

I think the cigar lighter is on the accessory circuit which may well serve the clock too.

your ciggy lighter has a feed from the battery, through a 10 amp (i think) fuse. then an earth from the other side of the lighter.

your clock also may be using the same earth as the lighter! i would check your continuity of the earth first.

your clock has a feed from the ignition through a fuse, one from the battery again a fuse, one from you light switch and yes another fuse and finally an earth.

The B6, B7 etc. refer to the labelling in the fuse box.
You need to get your face right in front of the fuse box to see the labels [little white letters at the bottom of the columns and little white numbers next to each fuse]
Halfrauds sell fuses :)
