That is an interesting point - why is it that peeps with winches never seem to want to use them?

ill happily use my winch all day long as its easier & faster than a kerr, only thing i get narked at is some peoples absolute wish not to get there winch dirty or even get out there motor, now that ticks me off when u spend all day winching them out
ill only use a kerr on some ones motor that i know & i know is prepared for the use of one,

ill happily use a kerr but only if i know score regarding rec points etc

i have no idea about its history but driving over the rope is bad for it,not washing it is bad for it & just a note it didnt move on the first pull & just moved on the 2nd pull so  it woulda made sense to winch the ****** out,

I agree, I will always use a KERR when its good to use one. If it dose not come out the 1st or 2nd go then its time for a winch. But looking at where the 90 is stuck I would have never gotten the KERR out in the frist place.

It was good to see people kept out of the way, I have seen too many who hang around near ropes and wires, not fully understanding the dangers

Thumbs didnt want to use his winch cos he said he didnt want to risk breaking it on recovering somebody else - fair comment.

On inspection afterwards it could be seen that the rope was knotted, and guess where it broke? Yes the knot!

The chap in the motor did cut himself from the glass it was all over the cab.

I had a feeling that something may happen and I did say that to Thumbs 's mate, Note how far away I was stood.

In the end the chaps own buddies got him out.

Bulli:
Kerr shouldnt be used with a run up like that any way. If you have any kind of traction you should not take a run up, the rope should be taught.

My main question is why he thought he could drive that section??? had many managed it b4?
