That is an interesting point - why is it that peeps with winches never seem to want to use them? :lol: :lol:

You'll never get a shackle on the end of a broken rope... broken recovery point maybe, but not broken rope.
Not good news is it? Could have certainly had someone's eye out with that.
How did you get him out in the end? Looks like a helicopter job to me!
