Feed to new fuse box in car?.
« on: January 16, 2007, 20:38:23 »
I'm going to put a new fuse box at high level inside the cab so that i can add a 12v power point, radio and interior light. My question is where is the best place to take the feed? i.e straight from the battery or extend it from the existing internal fuse box.

If you take it directly from the battery you will have to remember to switch everything off so you don't flatten the battery.

You could wire in a heavy duty relay to make it ignition live

Good idea. Certainly better than coming direct. Like  Dr Neil has said the risk of forgetting to turn the radio off is quite high. Would you happen to know which way to connect the wires?

just the same as wiring in a set of spots - an ignition live replaces main beam
