What have I done wrong? (Rear Prop)

Skibum346:
Is it something other than the prop that has been disturbed by the work?

Don't always assume that the thing that's been replaced is the cause... :?

I'm certainly open minded about what it could be. I guess I'll stick the old prop back and see how that is.

My main concern is have I fitted the replacement flange properly :?:  I just removed three hole flange along with nut and washer and fitted four hole flange with new nut and washer but it also had a mudshiel type thing which perhaps I shouldn't have fitted as maybe it is front axle only or something :?:

Anybody done one recently and remember exactly?

I tried this with mine and got a vibration from it.
I my case I think it's to do with the lift and the U/Js pulsing like they do on the front when you fit the caster corrected radius arms.

I've got a pair of the Scorpion's cranked trailing arms fitted now and just need the packing washers to go on the chassis end before I try the prop again. These push the nose of the diff down slightly and seem to take out the vibration.

Did you have a thrust washer behind the 3 bolt flange and, if so, did you leave it in there? Only IIRC this isn't required on the 4 bolt flange.
The mud shield does go on there, I just use the one off the 3 bolt flange when I did mine.

Thanks Budgie. That gives me something to work with. I didn't notice the thrust washer but I didn't look for it either so it could well be still in there. If there is a mud guard on the three bolt then it looks shallower than the one with the four bolt and also looks welded to the flange :!:

Cranked arms are on the spending list so perhaps some hope there if all else fails

Thanks,

Sev

Budgie:
The mud shield is a tight fit but is not welded.

Well, not on mine anyway.  :D
