towing limits

2,000-2,500kg I think for my 2A. But the transmission is more than capable of pulling 10,000kg.

My rover 620i can tow 1200kg legally but have used it recently to a 2.2 tonne trailer off my drive as I couldnt get the hitch up high enough to get onto the disco tow ball. I wouldnt tow the trailer any further than I had too. :lol:

You don't actually have to weigh over 3.5 tonnes just be capable of being it. If the trailer is empty but max weights for vehicle and trailer are more than 3.5 tonnes a tacho is required. Fines go up to £5,000 and both driver and employer can be taken to court.

although i towed a laden car trailer on sunday then realised it was technically unbraked :shock: ...19ft car trailer with RRC on it!!!

So far;
1. Discovery. About 20tons (6x4 tanker) stood on a grass verge & the Discovery on dry tarmac)
2. 110. About 4tons??, a (loaded) LDV LWB pickup -the Sherpa 'update' style- on a snow covered 1-in-8 (just on the Derbyshire side of the summit of HomeMoss (A6024)
