What an abysmal morning, the weather is truely apalling :x

I went out on the school-run this morning (only about 41/2miles each way), but it seemed to take forever.
What is is usually a 10-15 minute run (each way) ended up taking almost an hour to complete.
Whether everyone panicked at a bit of wind & rain and set off to work earlier I don't know?

The Calder was rather high as we passed over it, having risen (I'd guess?) 2 foot since last night as the streams between here & its source near Todmorden have been incessantly feeding it.
However it was higher a couple of weeks ago

At the moment, I'm looking out at the school oposite & there's sheets of water being blown up the playground.
Going to be a breezy day, expect uprooted trees in the news tonight.


Anyway, onto the 'white stuff'

yeah would love some snow.

we got more luck of a carribean summer than snow.

I don't mind the cold but wind and rain is horrible.... :(

It's plenty wind enough here.  :shock: Damage to the house, and also a fence has given up the will to live as has its concrete post that also broke in half.  :?

Oh yes, a tree has been blown over in the garden as well...

...and this all happened within a few hours.

But as always, the forecast is completely out for the area.  It says wind speed should be 20-ish mph.  Since when could a 20mph wind damage a house, blow out fences, rip trees out of the ground etc?  :?

just started raining down here not that windy yet though..

it must be bad up there to snap a concrete post!!!!!
