Cross-posting

OK - we need a definition of "forum" here!
Are we talking Mud-Club = forum, LRUK = forum?
Or Greenlaning = forum, Regional Meets = forum (all on Mud Club)?

I thought you meant mud club, disco owners club etc etc

Well, I wouldn't call it "cross-posting" then, it's just posting the same info on multiple sites!
Mud Club is the only 4x4 site I frequent, so in that case I'm all for cross-posting :)

Unless it's spam I have no problem at all.

As David mentioned that he views 'posts since last visit' and refers to same posts in that respect I would imagine he means just here and the same posts in cross-posted in different sections
We (moderators) do attempt to keep things tidy when cross posting occurs however if people have replied to different posts the forum software has a knack of committing the threads to the internet ether when we try and tidy up! However, we are just ordinary members the same as everyone else, just with a bit more responsibility  so the odd posts do get started beyond our control/tidying up abilities.
A recent example was the 'help to crush my Range Rover' - this was posted on about 6 different sections, fortunately only one post had been replied to so the un-replied to posts where removed and the post with the reply to moved to the most relevant section.
My pet hate is for sale posts with the subject... 'for sale' - no! Really? No wonder it's posted in the for sale section then!!!
