Chequer plate - can you paint it?

Will paint seriously stick to externally mounted chequer plate and stay on long-term? I appreciate that it may get scratched.

What type of paint would be best? What preparation would be needed?

Etch primer it first but yes it works. Black cheq plate is silver stuff thats been sprayed!!

I'd imagine that enamel based pain would be good as its hard wearing, but i honestly dont have a clue!

I ment about the paint type, that was a guess. the rest is true, an etch primer first and all black cheq is just painted silver stuff :)

Yeah I agree, you need a can of decent acid etch, make sure it is mega clean, key it up with a 'scotch' pad or kitchen scourer if not and give it a good degrease and your paint will then stick like excretion to a bedtime cover!!
