Wanting To Replace Standard Hight Suspension
Xtremeteam:
--- Quote from: "drmike" ---Why on earth fit those dreadful police spec springs? What benefits do they offer? The ones I had on the 90 were too stiff and restricted the articulation. I guess they might work better on a disco but it's all about spring rates etc. so if you want to keep the same height etc. then just replace with standard spings which are pretty cheap.
As for shocks I have used Pro Comps which are great and De carbons which I know some people don't like but they transformed my Rangie so I'd guess they would be pretty good for a Disco.
I replaced the standard shocks on the Disco with some gas shocks - Armstrong would that make sense and I don't think they are anywhere near as good as they should be. If I did it again it would be Pro Comps or De Carbon for sure.

i had the red/whites on my 90 & they were bang on,lifted it & handled great with loads of articulation, better than the yellow britpart ****,just about to change them for a set of lovells springs which are approx the same rate but taller
Darren:
You could do a lot worse than just fitting new standard OE springs. Land Rover spent a lot of time and money developing them, afterall. Shocks are slightly different and a set of decent gas ones will outperform the standard ones. My preference is for Koni adjustables - not the cheapest, but then when it comes to these things I'm a firm believer in the old adage of you get what you pay for.
blacknight:
Looks like its gas dampers then, but not sure what to do about the springs yet though!!
Thanks for the replies.

I dont know the part numbers but it was in thier special offers area. The springset for the rear is located in a different area on the page to the rest of the shocks / springs. I will try and find them later for you.
