Does a series 2a gear box have syncromesh on first and second gears?

i think so,
where as series 3 had syncro on all four.

maybe wrong :oops:

A Series 2A gearbox has syncro on third and fourth gears only.  First and second lack syncromesh.

Thanks, I'm going to look at one on sunday and the bloke said no syncromesh on first and second and my knowledge is limited. I just wanted to make sure he was right and not just trying to hide the fact it was knackered. If at a later date I wanted syncromesh on all 4 gears can a series 3 gear box be fitted easily?

yellow series 2a:
A series 3 gearbox will couple stright up to the engine i have done it my self! Hope this helps
