10 car garage
« on: December 17, 2006, 04:22:42 »
Ok, here's a conversation I often have on long journeys.

You win the lottery (must check that ticket) and SWMBO says you can have 10 cars, but no more.  Once the garage is full you have to start selling them.

So, money no object what would yo have and why?

I find that it's not the exotic cars but the ones that are personally important to me, once I get past about 6 or 7 then you have to start thinking "but do I want that more than something else?"

Funny though

1 I'd keep Blue for mucky weekends
2 Always wanted an LSE (got one)
3 My first car (still got it)
4 A ford Escort RS of some description (got one..... spot the theme)
5 An american Musclecar, probably a GTO roadrunner
6 an italian supercar but not a new one, so a Ferrari GTO or GT4B
7 An english sports car, Aston Martin V8 or DB9, or a GT40 or ACE Ace, or big HEELEY

Then I get to the last 3, they've got to be something special as they come at the expense of every other car ever made.  Buggati Royale perhaps, or something really rare like a Gordon Keeble, or a Gull Wing Mercedes.  Blower Bently like my dad always wanted (nearly had) or a Silver Ghost.

So come on, money no object, what's your 10 cars going to be?
Blue,  1988  Range Rover 3.5 EFi with plenty of toys bolted on
Chuggaboom, 1995 Range Rover Classic
1995 Range Rover Classic Vogue LSE with 5 big sticks of Blackpool rock under the bonnet.

I think I'd go for fewer than ten.

1) I'd keep the Discovery
2) I'd keep the 101 too, and stick a big V8 Diesel in it, and refit the interior to luxury standards, and put an auto box in, and...
3) Ariel Atom (isn't that a washing powder?)
4) I'd go for a Supercharged RR Sport and convert it to LPG to ease my conscience a bit.
5) I'd also have a 38-tonne artic just for the hell of it.
6) Oh, I'd "need" a convertible too...  maybe an Aston?

Alvis stalwart (6x6 high mobility load carrier. that swims..- who needs ferries?)
A nice convertable - Panoz LMP perhaps?

My other car's are more fun 'cos their Scalextric!

Well I'm not surprised at all to find so many of you would have a Landie or two.

Even the trucks , yes I'd love a Sacammell pioneer or explorer too, but the tank trailer might be taking the pee a little.

But Beast, an RS1800!

Man after my own heart, we can but dream eh mate :)

Nice to see so many Escort fans, my own collection already includes, 1980 1.3 Estate, 1980 1.6 Ghia in Gold, 1980 45 van and the new 'toy' 1979 RS2000 custom (shhhh, I'm a bit paranoid about that one  ).
