Handbrake adjustment 1991 shogun.
« on: December 10, 2006, 12:29:36 »
Went offroading last Sunday and since then for some reason my handbrake has been incredibly loose. Does anyone know how to adjust it? Is it from the handle end? Underneath the car?

Any help would be appreciated.

Under the car, two 10 mm spanners and notch up the cable at the handbrake end, then to the rear wheel, remove the little rubber seal on teh back plate, knurled adjuster in there, bladed scredriver, turn down one the passenger sdie, and up on the other untill the wheels lock, then back a few to free.
I now it's jap, but it tows Landrovers well !!

I would clean them out as well, and get use to doing it on a regular basis if you go off road a lot.
Have to do mine every 2 trips through deep water and mud.

Glad it's not just mine that does it.
