I must ask, why do you want to change the front end?

Sell it and buy a 90!

I notice you have a 1977 Series IIa with a V8, is it this you're changing the front end on?

By the way, it's a Series III, Series IIa production stopped in 1971 (K). Got a pic of the front end?

I think this is his V8 Series.  If it is, then that is most certainly a Series 3 front end and Series 3 hinges.  But the bulkhead is a Series 2A bulkhead by going off the widnscreen hinges...  :?

I think I know what it is.  If it is an Ex-MOD vehicle, or a vehicle that was not registered on the roads until '77 then it could very well be a 2A.  I'd say it's a 2A from 68-71 due to the location of the lights in the wings and lack of a vent hole on the passenger wing.  While the grill is a Series 3 grill, a common replacement to "upgrade" the 2A to 3 when the 3 was in production and thus worth more.

i put the 90 front end on, to give me lots of room for the V8, all i did was slam on the front grill and panel, and stick the bonnet on, job done, (but dont forget some bonnet catches)

very easy, just had to get the front panel level wiv the wings then drill 2 holes in both wings then the bonnet fitted straight on the hinges on the bulkhead, then u can hold the bonnet down wiv the normal latch for a 90 or use bonnet pins

Sorry, missed the ex mil bit...
I reckon use the same bonnet catches from the IIa, may be easier, and should look better IMO   :)
