Range Rover Blues:
Whilst in Maplins they do a good 4 channel amp for £60, this will give your bass a lot more beef.

--- Quote from: "Horness" ---Does anyone have any idea's which speakers would be a direct replacement (size and depth) to fit into a 1998 300 Discovery? Looking for fronts and rears, leave the tweeters, they look a nightmare to replace.
I've swapped the head unit out for a Kenwood MP3 (nothing fancy), wired up the sub, and it to be honest, things still sound rather poor. I don't need some big bling ICE setup, but if I could swap out the speakers without re-cutting etc., that would suit me fine.
Suggestions etc. appreciated.

Well, I have some FOCAL CA110s (10cm) in the pillars and doors. I just took the covers off the a pillar and diconnected the tweeters as the Focals are 2 way. And ys they make a big improvement. No huge bass but i leave that to the diesel!! :D
AbyssDJ:

That's what I fitted in mine (300) some Sony Xplod one's IIRC.
Fitted some aftermarket one's on the rear - cut them into the trim and unbolted the original mounts - look fine but the sound is still lacking without an amp.
I did have a 'boot tidy' box I had built for in the rear and I had extended the face of it across the wheel arches to completely fill in the 'triangle' behind the back seats - used the space to fit some 6x9's which really did make the sound a lot nicer but have taken the box out now.
