Range Rover Blues:
If you ever see one the 80 amp does go on, I run an alternative belt that's wider to cure the belt burning problem and I have the stronger belt tensioner (screw thread type) on the alternator, it runs ok.  One of the big probs with the V8 is that the alternator bracket bends over time, especially when some numpty doesn't refit the brace bar.  Eventually the belt is running slewed on the pulleys and wears rapidly.  I could get though one in an afternoon until I fixed it.

The 100 amp unit had a flat multi Vee belt, this requires a different crank pulley to suite and PAS pulley with a guide pulley on the front, as on '93 SE/LSE.

Replaced 65a it did have a 80a on it but where I got it from just sent me the 65a one.
It works and runs the car seems much better now  :) so it will have to do.
