High revving

<< < (2/2)

Range Rover Blues:
Didn't know that :)  might be worth sticking a voltage meter in your car, perhaps into the cig lighter for now.

Garth:
Mine does same when it is warm starts and then instantantly revs up to approx 1500-1800 RPM for a approx 10 seconds then calms down to 1000 ish. Then drops to 700-800

I have tried starting on petrol and gas and does same??

When its cold starts as you would expect.

Range Rover Blues:
I've got to be honest, mine does that too and I don't give a ****.

I understand that a faulty road speed sensor can cause this and my truck hasn't got one, which would definitely class it as faulty

Garth:
Well if its not there it wont break :D  :D

My concern is that on a bad day the bottom end grumbles with the higher starting revs

Range Rover Blues:
True, I tend to think that running a fast idle will get the oil there faster, but it's swings and roundabouts.  I use Lucas oils with the added stabiliser, it helps protect the bottom end on first-start, a bit like magnetec but without the gold-plated bottle.
