Mazda 35 SL TI in 90
« on: November 19, 2006, 15:28:58 »
Hi,

I have a Mazda 35 SL Ti coupled to an LT-77 out of a Rangie. I want to put it into a 90 that I have recently aquired minus engine and box. The Mazda mounted to V8 Rangie mounts and the 90 was a TD with LT-77.

Can anyone who has done this conversion offer any advice?

I am thinking along the lines of mounting the gearbox in same place as the 90 with a 90 shifter mechanism and playing it from there. I assume the engine will sit fairly far forward in the engine bay like a 300tdi but will I have room? Would I be best off using a 90 LT-77 or would this sit the engine a little far back? Would obviously prefer to utilise what I have (Rangie LT-77) but will listen to all those better experienced with this.

Anything else I need to know about this conversion? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Martin
