Virus on my pc PLEASE help me

(1/3) > >>

muddyjames:
I have a mega virus on my pc that is slowing down to a very painful speed and with 99% of anti virus programs I have downloaded it doesnt detect the virus.

When I run a virus check with name a few progrmas, norton, avg, spybot, anti vir classic they do a virus check and show faulty files and then as soon as they hit the main virus it shuts the pc down and it reboots. Once rebooted the anti virus program shows it has done a complete scan. I have stared at my screen for hours on end to try and spot which file it scans before dying and now 1 program has got it and not crashed!!!

I have now down loaded STOPzilla which has picked the virus up. YEY at last I am getting somewhere!!! I want to pay to subscribe to kil the virus but I dont have any of the cards they accept so I was wondering if anyone knows where to look on my pc to find these virus files. Below is a pic of my screen with some of the files. there are 61 in total that are effected so STOPzilla says.

Any one that can help will be a super star and if I ever see you in the future a beer token or 2 maybe bought for you!!

Heres wishing for a miracle.

Have you tried doing a system restore to the last point it was ok?

Restart the PC in 'safe mode with networking' (press F8 after the initial memory and disk check and then select the right option).
Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and use the free antivirus package there.

I'd say the same as Dude, system restore if it will.

in the screenshot there is only a snippet of what it has detected...

what it has detected are keys in the registry that are possibly a threat.  on their own they wont do anything but they maybe 'settings' for worse things.  Looking on the net the Zonemap string seems to have a legit purpose in the registry so im not sure why its being shown there...

If it were or a pc that had come in that I had to repair (even though I mostly only deal with macs) I would restart in Safe Mode and then run a something like AVG and then Spybot S&D and then AdAware.  See what it comes up with.  If it STILL comes up with nothing then try the Safe Mode with Networking and goto the website listed above.

If you get confused in Safe Mode try and take notes of what AVG/Spybot/Adaware has found and then post the finidings back here :)
