write them a letter and include the proof of posting for the original sorn declaration which you sent when you should have done out and tell them what retards they are because you had sorn'd it for the period they are trying to fine you.

if you didnt get proof of posting certifcates then you should have done!. my local post office always insist you have one when sending off a DVLA letter and it helps a lot of people.

i did it online ,but the annoying thing is they told me the date i had declared it sorn but because i sent the log book off after id sorned it ,it gets cancelled out :roll:

Just been looking at doing one of mine, the sorn I got doesn't have the ref number on it you have to refer to the log book for it, it seems you can do it online, the reminder tells you one way, but no ref number on the sorn, there website is ahead of their sorns, the one I have has not been altered to give you the number, so I have to dig out the paperwork for the vehicle instead,
I cant officially re apply the sorn until the 15th of the month, so I have plenty of time to get it ready, so I'll wait until then, the only thing is if i put the sorn out of sight i'll probably forget the flaming thing

Thing is you CAN'T SORN it without the log book, so I'd appeal even if you got to couort. There are a lot of screw up with the system but they won't admit it. We got fined this summer because we didn't SORn the Fiesta, it's a tax on ownership. Anyway, it said on the reminder we could do it online with the ref code int eh yellow panel to the right of the form. the panel was blank. Had one come through for the Mondo, it said you need the ref number from the log book and the one for the noddycar has the ref number pinted on it. Consistancy, that's what I like to see :roll: I'll not be holding my breath then.
