Bye Bye Morphy me old mucker!
tomarse:
sweet!. keep us up to date on how he goes on!. Lees gonna be chuffed that someone on here has him now!
Lee bought Morph around the same time i bought my 101.
What are your plans for him? finish off the camperising and then give him some use?

Well if ever you feel like forwarding any piccys I'd be glad to bung them up on the web site in his section.
Few tips that Nige may not have mentioned. When you open the Battery box the rear most battery does the auxilaries - If this is not charged the Ebershapacher heater won't kick in. When it's switched on the fan will blow cool for up to a min and you will hear the spark plug and pump ticking. When the heater ignites the fan will double it's speed and will be well toasty in no time. When you switch it off the fan continues till the hot plate in the heater is cool enough not to blow up Morph
As you stand in the back of Morph looking forwards - the wooden pannel fitted vertically to the bulkhead on the left if removed has the Eberspachers thermostat tucked inside it.... I never got to relocate it somewhere suitable.
Also in the centre of the bunlhead below where you walk through again if you remove the verticle wooden trim there is a +12 wire which may be handy if you want to fit a ciggy lighter socket in the back.
The roof hatch handle on the left as you look at it facing forwards with your back to the rear doors is iffy... as in if you turn it too far past the marked lines (drymarker) the latch pins need to be relocated with a screwdriver to get it back in position. I was going to fit some rubber door stops to prevent the handle being turned too far.
At the rear end there are some spare wires taped up by the near side mudflap along with the wires to the reversing light. The spares were intended for a reversing camera and the other end comes out at the dashboard.. though you could use them for pretty much anything you like of course... the wire could benifit from some P clips to fasten it up along the rear near side arch.. another job on my to do list. CB mount on the roof has a quick release on it.. dunno if Nige gave you the twig I gave him, if there is no CB in then the bracket I made above the drivers head is for a York JCB 861, they go on ebay for around £8 upwards.
All the spare wheel mount will unbolt if you desire... I also have detailed plans of the frame work on each side so I knew where the structure was if ever I came to scre anything to the sides internally.
If the rear lights don't come on (inside) it'll be a bad connectionon the rear of the master switch on the passender side of the dashboard, a wiggle of the wires usuall saw it right again.
I think that's most of his quirks though I'll let you know if I think of owt else.

Hi tomarse.
Yes, I intend to further the camperising and take him out to play as well :D
Still getting used to the greater width and lack of rear view mirror
Haven't actually seen him in daylight yet . . .
Thanks for the info Lee. I've still not had a good poke around him yet - but i do know where the fuel filler is now
Doesn't seem to like inclined roads much . . . . everyone was overtaking on the motorway home :(
I'll get some pics as work progresses.
Cheers

I Nige says he has had the dizzy worked on, When I sold Morph the Dizzy had a rattle on it.
The timing may need a tweak. We could tow the Caravan happily on the motorway at 50-55. Solo he would cruise at 55-60 slowing for long gradients but never below 45. May be worth checking the tyre pressures too.
The carbs have been proffesionally refurbed but balanced by ear by me. The mixture is set on the weak side for the MOT emissions. If you know a tuning guru then it may be worth a visit.
The heads have been off and valves reworked and replaced as appropriate. The Cam appeared visually fine but may well be origional. Water pump is also new as is Fan belt.
Brake adjusters turn clockwise to tighten and anti-clockwise to slacken if you ever need to clean mud out of the hubs :). Lots spent getting the brakes right when I got him.
I'd defo reckomend some bigger mirrors like Tomarses.

Sounds like he may just need a tweak then.
I believe Nige said he had replaced the distributor. Was that cruising at 55-60 km/h or mp/h :o
I quite liked the mirrors as compared to the ones on my Series 3, although rear camera I think is the way to go
I'd also quite like an autobox - what's the usual option here (if any)?
Scott
