Theres no reason you cant install it all. Bear in mind that if yoou go off road the multichanger will take a beating and probly stop working. I fitted one to a old SJ410 and it lasted about 4 months. I did give that SJ some stick thro.

This was my answer in the other thread

Definately, I've got a Sony 10 disc autochanger in my 109" series 2a. It has only jumped a couple of times (always on tarmac roads).

To add a bit more, the whole thing, head unit and autochanger, is housed in a centre console that I built in a couple of evenings. Power goes in and speaker cable comes out, it also houses the CB. Just need to get round to finding an aerial so I can listen to the radio as well.

It might be wise to mount it in the sun visor . though if you go off roading there is the small chance that it  might fall down and hit you in the face

CD in Series

I tried a single CD in my series 3, basically if you fix it down then it will skip when you hit a pothole or bump and not just a bit sometimes a whole track! I gave up and use an MP3 player plugged into an aux or using a cassette adaptor.

Hi,

Iv got a pioneer cd player in mine mounted where you mount the radio in the defender, Works fine,

Cd players have anti shock so as long as you arn't a tight gig and pay peanuts for the cheapest in the shop you shall get a good cd player wit anti shock.

Speakers, There are loads of places to mount them, I had a mard top and mounted them in the top rear corners, 6x9's fit, Now i have a truck cab so have mounted them down infront of the gear stick, Ok as don't do major wading, You can mount them in the roof however so i shall prob move mine soon,

Il tryand get some phototes if you want,

Another way would be a standard radio cassette and use a mountable, mp3 walkman, plug in through a cassette connection. The player mounting plate would take some of the bounce, with it being a walkman would prob be more stable
