I have just picked up a sj on ebay. it has 1.9 vw turbo diesel engine and it is a little under geared so I would like to fit some 16" rim's on it. What standard 16" rims fit it and who also does aftermarket steel rims to fit?

Under geared is GOOD :)

What size tyres has it got at the moment?

There's no need to switch from 15" to 16", there are lot of 15" tyres size options :)

Yes! there are lots of tyres at 15", but at some time I'll need to uprate the axils, as I know there is far to much lbs/foot going through those cv joint at the moment so I don't want to buy tyre twice. Also I can get a narrow/ taller tyre by going to 16" and you need that toget to the hard stuff under the glorious mud.

Off Topic, but any chance of some pics? Lookign at doping an Audi 1.8T or 1.8TDI myself.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
