1.5" lift
blackbeltbob:
got some (very small amount) of funds to spend on the defender and was thinking of either jackable sills/tree sliders or a lift kit.
if I went for a lift kit would I encounter any problems if I went for a 1.5" lift with regards to having to change other parts to compensate for it?
not very mechanically minded so not wanting to put stress on driveshafts etc if I can help it. plus got limited funds for this project.
please help :? :? :? :? :? :?

Personally, I'd go for the sills. I've fitted a pair to my 110 and they've been so useful.
They're also great in suprmarket car parks. They protect your doors from trolley damage and they also double as steps (if you get the wide/tree slider ones) :D

What tyres are you running? If you're on standard tyres you can get a couple of inches just from some new rubber! Also helps to stop you getting stuck! If you go with the sliders then North Offroad do some good uns.
Best of luck whichever way you go.

blackbeltbob:
cheers guys.
run 235/85 by 16's Hankook MT's which (so far) have got me out of all the bother I get myself in to.
considering them for looks and for practicality as well.
any other ideas or opinions?
Nick666:
Sliders are nice. Got mine from Mills Services - excellent product, excellent price, excellent service :)
The lift kit's for sometime in the future - like you I have 235/85/16s although mine are BFG MTs.
