Rivers / Lakes in the UK for Boating

(1/3) > >>

Brian the Sn@il:
Im into boating but my Fletcher 15ft speed boat does not mix well with the Norfolk Broads :( as there is a 4mph speed limit on most of it :(

So are there any other members who know a river / lake near them with a slip to go boating on ???

Regards

Brian

There is the marine lake in southport, its not very big (well the speedboat end isnt anyway) and its quite expensive to launch.

You can go on the mersey from liverpool yacht club for sensible money.  Its 10miles wide in places.

I have a sailing dingy so speed isnt really an issue, I tend to go the lake district.  Miserable sods banned speed boats now though :(

ozzycraig:
they havent banned them just put a speed limit up to spoil even more of our fun  we used to use windermere most weekends in summer for water sking but now we have to travel up to loch lomond (which is a million times better for boats and its free to launch)
