td4 help
« on: October 15, 2006, 21:05:49 »
hi all, i have a bit of a problem

on my way home today my car spluttered a couple of times, previously it had a real squel of a sound when the turbo got up to about 3.5krpm on the rev counter. when i next changed gear i had no power. restarting the engine solved the no power thing for a couple of seconds, and i had to drive about 30 miles or so with the complete lack of power. it's as if the turbo is not cutting in.
it was also noticed, that the big hose at the front of the engine bay was expanding, it was nornally round, but when you rev the engine you can see it expand.

any ideas

paul

Sounds like a split or delaminated intercooler pipe, Td4's are quite prone to this...
