Whats it worth?

If i was to keep my vehicle and convert it to truck cab....what would the following be worth?

Full CSW roof with factory sunroof in oslo blue
All windows etc.
Roof linings front and rear
4 side facing county seats with belts
carpets
rear door to match

So basically everything from behind the front seats removed and sold?

I dont think i'd be splitting it as its a complete county SW setup.

Rear door (as it's a later one piece type) would go for about £200/£250

Rear seats £150

Seatbelts and bars - £100 (ish)

Roof with roof linings - £350 (at least)


As a kit (on ebay) you'd probably get between £700 and £1000 in all honesty (IMHO) even a bit more if someone wants to convert a late spec Land Rover.

A full station wagon conversion from Simmonites is £1800 AFAIK

Being a 2004 CSW, hasn't yours got a bulkhead less rear tub?? - i.e no bulkhead behind the rear seats.

Might find it easier to sell as a split and get more money that way too.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone willing to pay ~1100 pounds for it complete, but individually these prices are achievable

Figure on paying 250 for a good truck cab roof and lining.

Yup its a bulkheadless one porny.

Whilst its worth a reasonable ammount i think itll devalue the vehicle mroe than i will return from the sale of parts and so not worth it :(

Last November I bought a six month old TD5 90 truck cab with 3000 miles on clock off an LR dealer for £10,500 +VAT.

You could then spend £10-11K on the following..

Not touchy really...not compared to the earlier part of this week!!

If i keep this vehicle i have nothing to spend on what i want to do, if i sell then i clear my loan and have upto 10K to play with for a challenge truck. Thing is without a buyer i'm stuck, so was considering other options but changing what i have fron CSW into pickup doesnt seem to be very economical.

In the challenge events  - do you want to take part or have a chance of winning?

Is your current 90 your only vehicle?

To have a chance of winning in todays challenge events I personally think it's impossible to use a challenge truck on and off-road. As it becomes more competitive you see the challenge trucks morphing too. First truck cabs for better visibility, ease of access into rear for gear and better manouverability within trees etc. Recently you are seeing more and more tray backs, for better access, more protection/less damage etc etc.

The winches are getting faster, twin motor 8274's, souped up hydraulics etc etc. 35" Simex are seen as the minimum now and quite a few are moving over to portals.

All of this makes the truck unusable on road for anything more than to and from events.

Compete in standard class and you could do it with your 90, or you could compete in modified but really to take part as you'd have no chance of winning. In standard you could run a competitive truck and still use it on road. But you will still have to spend some money on your 90 to do this.

For 10K you could buy a decent TDi 90 and have enough funds to equip it to compete in standard or alternatively you could buy an old rangie, space frame it and stick two winches on each end, put some agressive tyres on it like the Fedima Simex copies and compete well in Standard class and afford a 90 TDi for on-road.
