how much softer is the ride once parabolics have been fitted to landy's...compared to coilers..thanks

Depends what shocks are fitted :wink:  I run Rocky Mountain para's with Procomp ES9000. On road they are pretty hard - but off road superb 8)

I think the ES3000 are slightly softer.

You can't expect parabolics to ride like coil springs.  However, I have found them to be nearly as bumpy as normal good springs off the tarmac, but they take the edge off the bumps.  On the tarmac, they absorb a lot of the little bumps in the road and take a huge edge off the larger bumps like pot holes.

Try moving some really heavy loads (like try and get it as close to the bump stops as you can ;) ). it really softens the springs up nicely. (ive got rocky mountains and es3000 shocks)

I've fitted some parabolics recently with ES3000 dampers. They are a lot better ride on greenlanes but not much better on tarmac with the exception that speed bumps don't slow me down so much now :wink:

The gas dampers do make a great difference on tarmac. The roadholding is far better than the standard items and twisty contry roads can be driven with more confidence now.

You mean compared to the standard leafs? Because he's asking compared to coils.  Coilers can be the likes of a Range Rover, which are -very- soft and you feel nearly none of the bumps.

parabolics will never be as good as coils but the do improve the ride and give extra flex when off roading

hey guys can anyone recommend a good supplier of pro comps for my series, im running rocky mountains and military shackles so need loop to loop fittings. shall i get es3000 or es9000?

Either off Explorer themselves or off a local parts place.

My local parts place will do them for a competative rate and also they can offer the lifetime garantee as well. See Brookwell

The es9000's i have been told are a bit harder then the 3000 but perform better.  I would get the +2 9000's IMHO.

had them on me 109 front better but the back still crap . if your springs are good and well oiled standard i would spend the money.
