I'm half way through First Overland - an account of the first overland crossing from London to Singapore, in the days when there wasn't even a road to follow!

It was completed by 6 guys from Oxford & Cambridge in 2 Land Rovers.  When they finished, they drove back again.

The book is incredibly well-written and entertaining.  I strongly recommend anybody with any sense of adventure gets a copy out the library!

funnily enough when i was last on the european continent i read the long way round book
