Front centre seat

(1/3) > >>

Jim-Willy:
Does the centre seat need a belt legally on my '76 S3?  I am guessing it had a lap belt as standard but mine has gone.  Seems odd that anybody could be bothered to remove the clip even if they took the belt out.  Stupid novice question i know but i just noticed.  Any pics of one fitted would be really good aswell.

Cheers in advance :)

wetnwild:
My 1982 S3 doesn't have a centre lap belt either and there is no visual sign of one being there in the first place.  However, I do have difficulty in imagining how somebody would sit on the centre seat and the driver being able to change gears!  hmmmm.....

Jim-Willy:
Aye, mine has no trace of a belt either which got me wondering :? .  If i need it legally to take a 2nd passenger i s'pose i will have to get one (hope not or it is another daft bit that is missing).  We used to travel 3up in my uncles old 86" S1 when i was a boy but that had no belts at all.

ian_s:
mine has a centre lap belt, but its totally different to the other belts, looks like it was robbed from a scrappy or something
and i regularly had people sitting in the front when i was 17.
obviously they had to be nice slim young ladies   otherwise they wouldnt fit :D

Robbo:
I've fitted a lap in the middle of daisy 1975, kids love it! just got to becareful with elbow up their nose! Have fitted it to the bulkhead behind seat with a bit of 3mm plate as a spreader as I think the bulkhead might be a bit flimsy - not had a MOT yet with belt so we'll see in march! :?
