Tiscali Broadband

I have just been connected to Tiscali as of Tuesday because my old house had a new exchange and this house has an old one so had to move to 1 of 5 companies who do broadband here. Tiscali is 1 of them.

Every now and again I get cut off the internet. I dont do much on the net except chat far too much on msn and type far too much on forum pages.

Does anyone else get cut off?

Do you use the ADSL modem supplied by Tiscali, or an ADSL router?

The modem supplied by tiscali hasnt arrived yet. I am using one that has 2 flashing lights and is a usb connector on the end. It was what I used at my old house and worked fine

I have never been disconnected as such, have you plugged in adsl filters on all your devices connected to your telephone line, also I don't think it works too happy running on extension cable's if you are using them.

You have probably looked on the Tiscali Broadband FAQ's, this may offer some assistance, better than speaking to somebody in Bombay who is reading from a script  :shock:  and knows less than my 2 year old daughter about network problems  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

I am using the extension cable from my last house and it is going from bedroom through adsl filter into extension wire directly through stair bannister accross ceiling to welsh dresser down side to bt connection from outside.

I now have the radio playing from internet so when i get cut off i know n dont type loads a stuff then retype it.

also it wont reconnect until i have closed all explorer windows.
