I totally agree.  However I drive a Subaru Impreza 25,000 miles a year for business and the only points I've picked up were on the A43 in Nhants when they had roadworks and a 40 mph limit.  At the time I was slip streaming an ASDA lorry in my Series III diesel and the 51 mph I was recorded at was the fastest it ever went, so I was momentarily distracted from my speed by the jubilation of the speedo passing 50 MPH!

I did think about getting Northamptonshire safety partnership to try and get the series III to do 51 mph, because without the ASDA lorry to slipstream they would never manage it.

My sentiments exactly

SWMBO picked up a ticket in Leicester recently (somewhere between Fosse Park retail centre & the city-centre, I think)

One of her collegues thinks he triggered 4 in a row somewhere recently, so he's getting worried

:D luckily i was trying to get 30mpg so was looking for a 12 tonne lorry to sit behind (there limiters are set at 60mph) but had to stick with 56mph it just got me that the road angel was constantly bleeping!!!!

We came back along the M42 from holiday with the caravan on, and every speed limit at a camera along the stretch in question was different, varying between 30, 40 and 50 mph in some places, so I had to keep speeding up and slowing down accordingly and the footwell was like an oven.  It did the job, though - the traffic flowed freely and there were no lane-hoppers bunging up the road!

This was a couple of days after a shop assistant in Weston super Mare told us that a young girl had been crossing the road alongside a speeding camera and a car driver had not seen her, his/her attention being distracted by the camera, and the girl was in Intensive Care.  I don't know whether she survived or not.

I live and work in Solihull.

The biggest problem I have with these stupid temporary limits is that my HGV drivers are now struggling to do some journeys.

Depending upon the lowered limits being lit up Worcester to Manchester for example will take 15 to 20 minutes longer.

Truro to Solihull is now a virtual no go to achieve in four and a half hours.

Even Shirley to Bromsgrove during the middle of the day is taking 10 minutes longer. This might not sound a lot but when its ( repeatedly ) the difference between being finished at 17:30 or 17:50 3 times a week its another hour on some members of staffs week.
The list goes on.....

These lowered limts have increased taffic density and slowed everyone down immensly. More importantly driving standards have been reduced and with everyone bunched up and braking for every gantry its bl00dy dangerous!
