condrax:
hello
took my disco in for mot today it failed.

  brake pipes are coroded all over the place :(
hope they are not hard to replace ?

bit of welding required on both inner wings but not worth replacing whole inner wing :)

offside front hub leaking :(
is it worth changing nearside at same time ?

also the shock is shot on the front :(
it is a 92 so i guess the springs may need replacing too it has been feeling a bit sloppy latley  any suggestions would be good. i mostly do green lane or motorway stuff.

oh yeh and the steering box is leaking  :x its only 2 months old so am waiting to hear from the reconditioners to see if its replaceable under waranty  :?:

thx for any advice
mike

bullfrog:
Brake pipes are easy enough.
Welding the inner wings is also straight forword.
Just get the seals for the hub and leave other one unless you dont mind doing it, Again straight forword. :)

Springs wise I would go for a set of bearmach blues and a set of pro-comp shocks.
Lots of places sell the set now . 4x4 mail order are one of the cheapest.
Their ad is in LROi.
They offer agood ride and you could always go +1" for a bit more room offroad.

A 2nd hand steering box should be no more than £30
If it is clean during MOT then they cant fail it even if they know you just cleaned it

Range Rover Blues:
I'd go with the prop comps, you can use the standard OEM ones but with anything bigger than a 205 tyre on Alloy I think they are not quite man enough.  DeCarbon are also good BTW, as I'm assured are OME.  You pays your money.......

nickW:
i didn't think the inner wings are a problem for the mot

condrax:
hi
the inner wings are rusty within the prescribed area of the parking break mechanism and master break cylinder.

he also gave me an advisory notice.
engine front axle and transfer box all have oil leaks :) he should have seen them b4 i changed the oil seals and gasketts hehe

should be back on road soon the parts are all on order just hope the weather stays good.dont have an empty garage or workshop :(

cheers
