Bio Diesel............ ............................TOP STUFF
AbyssDJ:
ok this has been confusing me for a while now, so someone educate me -
what is best to run my 200tdi on other than diesel, and what do i need to do it? where can i get the stuff to run it/the stuff i'd need from, and how much for?
Miniman:
Right if you look down the post at my posts somwhere I posted a website which tells you where to buy the stuff. They refer to the fuel in % so if ya see 5% drive away....he he. you want 80% or like me 100%. I use a place in Burnley Lancashire Its price is 88p a liter. Have a search on the internet for places which sell it in your area. All you need to put in ya search is something like BioDiesel and the area you live in. The stuff is brill. I cant tell people how good it is. At first you will notice a drop in power when ya first use it. But after you have used about Half a tank you will find it is running alot better. I run only on the stuff now. If I go away I usualy take a barrel full with me. I am off up to DrumClog on the 28TH september and I will be taking 2 barrels with me. I probably get about 60 to 70 miles more out of a full tank now. It was Very thirsty on normal Diesel. As you run on the stuff it cleans out your fuel system so after a while may be 2 months depends on how many miles you do you will have to change your Fuel Filter.
Just found this have a read....
Why use biodiesel?
Biodiesel has been demonstrated to have significant environmental benefits in terms of decreased global warming impact , reduced emission , greater energy independence and a positive impact on agriculture .
Various studies have estimated that the use of 1 kg of biodiesel leads to the reduction of some 3 kg of CO 2. Biodiesel is extremely low in sulphur and has a high lubricity and fast biodegradability. These are all advantages which have been confirmed by the Auto Oil II programme.
Increased use of biodiesel in Europe represents an important step for the European Union in meeting its emission reduction target as agreed under the Kyoto agreement. It is believed that reducing emission also alleviates various human health problems.
In specific cases, used vegetable oils can be recycled as feedstock for biodiesel production. This can reduce the disposal of used oils in the environment.
Biodiesel production also plays a useful role in agriculture. Under the current Common Agricultural Policy, the arable raw materials needed for biodiesel production may be grown on set-aside land which would otherwise be taken out of production.
