As is Whitworth/Cowm Quarry, but they won't let you on without the vehicle being road worthy. It's because they have to cover themselves with the site insurance requirements.
Jake:
If you can get hold of a 90 then go for it. They are brilliant cars.
Old range rovers are great too. Loads of parts avalible for them and easy to drive. They (like disco's) just have a long back end which can catch on the way into holes.
I would suggest an SJ. Nice and cheap, parts galore avalible, easy to work on and cheap to insure (if you want to drive it to events).
Let us know what you go for.
Good luck.
:D
Rich_P:
Light parts also for the SJ remember. ;) A Range Rover, 90 etc. all have rather heavy parts, especially when it comes to the gearbox and transferbox in comparison to the SJ. :)

..... if you've got a decent job and no mortgage/family, go for a 300tdi 90 truck cab.... then spend a fortune on mods until its right for what you need.
1st off roader with no well paid job, get a zuk off ebay, doesnt matter its not mot'd as you'll only be using it off road. They go most places a landrover will and sometimes further....
PM "Naughty T" or "Redlinemike" and ask them for Difflock D5 pics, theres plenty of Zuks in action.... some flying through the air
Here you go a LINK to Naughty T's site.... some great piccys

I voted for "old Rangie", because that's what the Dakar is, really.
