There was a HSE 'top-dog' on Jeremy Vine (Radio 2, 12:00 - 14:00) & he seemed quite aggrieved that H&S seems to be used as an excuse to ban practically everything.
He seemed to have more sense than the organisation is usually given credit for

I heard some of that programme too, I can't say I agreed with much he said, its just a nanny state we live in nowadays.

Why should someone else tell me to do 'this' or not to do 'that' because I might hurt myself?

We were talking about this over lunch at work today, and we came to the conclusion that T&J was actually quite educational, as the smoker always got his just deserts.

It was either an exploding cigar, or the whole of Tom turned to ash as the cigar burnt down too far.

So where's the problem?
