OK, so the new Landy has only 60K miles on the clock. Just nicely run in for some power modifications.
I'm used to a 300TDi pulling the 90 along. Now with the extra weight on the 300TDi 110, I feel the engine is lacking somewhat.
So, what can I do to increase power/torque without decreasing my MPG :?:
I've toyed with the idea of a larger intercooler, but not sure of the pitfalls this may entail, ie, what other adjustments are required to benefit from it's installation?
I'm looking for about 15% increase :?:

Cheers

Having driven a 'before' and 'after' Defender that went through the Allisport treatment, I can recommend giving them a call (or see them at Peterborough)

With any engine mod,  you need to look at the complete system...  just tweaking the fuelling or fiddling with the boost will give you a benefit.. but you run the risk of messing up the engine.

My advice : talk to Andy   -  www.allisport.com

You want what?? Increased power is always going to cost fuel, if you have the self control to drive it more gently afterwards you shouldn't lose too much economy, but be heavy footed and you'll pay at the pump.

Ollie

Im having a new intercooler by Twisted performance and the 'compensatory' pump tweak to make the most of all of that lovely extra cool air!

I am not expecting miracles just hopeful of some more low down torque.

I get it back this afternoon , so will let you know the details.

Dave,

Good choice! If I had a turbo (or even an engine!!!) this is probably the set up I would go for.

the intercooler is on and the fuel turned up

Taken it as far as i can without it black smokin too much.

goes much better, in particular pullin from low revs - just what i wanted

Ollie,  if u need to know how to adjust the fuel up on a 300tdi, I am fully clued up on it now m8!   dont see why u cant slightly adjust a standard engine to get a little more out of it.

Dave,
I have my shiny new intercooler from Allisport.
I have yet to install, as at the same time I have to replace the crank oil seal on the Zeus timing gear, a job I have no idea how to do   nor looking forward to.
I will, however, take you up on your kind offer of help with the fuel adjustment :D

Are you pleased with it? Worth the investment :?:
