Ahh, I hadn't realised the law made a differentiation for 'roadiness'. Must go look that up.

Well, I think the poll results are pretty emphatic.

I'm very offended at all the 4x4 bias in this thread.

What about us 6x6 drivers?

As has been said before, if people aren't happy at this forum being open to people of differing backgrounds and opinions, they're very welcome to go and find a more suitable forum elsewhere, or start their own  :D

You're all very welcome.

Both of you.

--- Quote from: "Re-Discovery" ---THIS IS NOT A POST TO ALIENATE NEWBIES, THIS IS AN ANTI POLISHERS DEBATE

i.e. THE PEOPLE THAT DO NOTHING TO SUPPORT THE HOBBY / INTEREST, THE PEOPLE THAT DO NOTHING TO DISPEL THE GAS GUZZLING BULLS**, THE PEOPLE THAT GREENPEACE SHOULD BE TARGETING, THE PEOPLE THAT LEACH OFF FORUMS FOR TECHNICAL ADVICE, BUT GIVE NOTHING BACK, THE PEOPLE THAT WON'T EVEN TAKE UP THE OFFER OF 'RIDING SHOTGUN' WHEN IT'S NOT EVEN THEIR CAR BEING DAMAGED, THIS IS THE PEOPLE THAT YOU DON'T WANT BEING ASSOCIATED WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE A GENUINE INTEREST IN AN EXCITING HOBBY/INTEREST.

I am not against people who have yet to enjoy the adrenalin that is released by off roading / green laning / quarry bashing or whatever floats your boat. I am just against the people that bring a genuine interest into disrepute.....The people who take, but give nothing back and are not likely to ever change!!!!!!!

I think that surely the people who bring the whole sport/hobby into disrepute are the muppets who drive their vehicles off road with no thought for the environment/damage they do or the legality of the route they are driving.  We have all read about these twunts and the bad press, resulting closure of Green Lanes etc, recently the Tennison Way on the IOW springs to mind and not the people that buy a 4x4 because they want one and don't intend to off road it afterall in 5 years time when they are bored it's a source of a second hand, never been off road vehicle that I can afford :D

My first 4x4 was the Megane Scenic Rx4, because I liked the look of it, tried a minor off road adventure and got 50 yards in before the wheels started spinning and I had to reverse back down the slight hill and then went back to sensible cars, I bought Moneypit, TD5 Disco 2, to tow a Caravan and thought I'd like to off road her a little bit, have done so twice.  Now want to make sure she is working properly and I can afford to repair any damage before I take her off road again.
