Can 200tdi (Disco) shocks & springs be replaced by '90'ones?  Not too bothered about lift at the moment, but I'd like to lose a bit of the sag/roll under load

in 1 word yes

In a word NO as the disco is considerably heavier ! The 90 springs will fit but thats all. It will handle worse than now !!

There isn't really a yes/no answer to this.

Only 110 springs will not fit because they have a larger diameter. In theory all 90/RR/Disco springs are interchangeable. It is just the free lengths and poundages that differ.

If you are trying to eleminate sag/body roll in an old Disco then replacing the shock and having the suspension bushes replaced (with polys if you like, blues would be my recommendation) can make a big difference.

I had red and whites (rears) all round on my rangie (300 Tdi). It lifts the front 3/4" more than the back. I put small spacers in to correct this.
