Did you read the original question?? - its hardly dodgy asking how to wire up a push button starter!

Thanks all, after a bit of experimenting we managed to sort it.

The Brown wire is a permanent live.
The thick white with red stripe is a connection to the starter motor.
One of the other wires goes to the main relay in the engine bay
and the final goes to an auxhillary in the fuse box.

So we will perminantly wire up the new start switch and button tomorrow.

I understand TD90's reaction, but in my defence I think the best way of tackling an issue of my LR being hotwired is to understand how the ignition works.
