BRAKE PROBS

andyhubbard:
Hi guys, when i switch on the ignition i am getting a noise from the o/s/f wing,on looking under the bonnet it's coming from a unit that i can only describe as some sort of compressor.I am also getting a lot of brake judder when pressing the brakes sometimes.Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Having done some research i now panic as i think it's the ABS pump and i don't like the price of them.

rangerider:
yup sounds like abs.

could be a cheap fix like a sensor moved out of postion fooling the system into thinking a wheel has locked hence the pulsing under braking.

Range Rover Blues:
How hard are you braking?

The ABS should be OK as Rich has just MOT'ed that car.  The ABS pump does make a noise, don't worry, all it's doing is keeping up with the fluid drain through the ABS valve block, it's a very different system from the Disco ABS but it was working ok when I last saw it.  Does the ABS light stay on on the dash?

andyhubbard:
Hi Andy-no light on the dash, just a lot of noise from the ABS pump but the scary bit is the effect on the pedal when applied, you can feel it pulsating through the pedal and a lack of braking?.Andy.

Daz800:
i think my bro had the same problem with his TD5 when he first had it.
Landrove did the repair at his houise and said it was air in the system.

I check with him later but i am sure, that was what he was told.
