Well she's  from Wakefield by birth (like me), but spent her youth (roughly aged 5 - 15) in Brighton & Germany as her dad was in the Army

Joanne spends it for both of us

Example.
Selling (well, px-ing) a perfectly serviceable caravan & buying a 'Posh PortaCabin' at (less than sunny) Bridlington, then having raised decking fitted along one side

I've still only been twice (& for less than 2hours in entirety), though I've been told I'm going on the weekend of 12th/13th August

She once bought a brand new car (1995) after only going in the dealer for some touch-up paint for a scratch.
I was waiting in the car, she seemed to be ages & then came back saying she'd been for a test-drive & we were getting a new Punto TD the following week

Read here & Look here (from 'Approach Road Sign')

(sadly I had to give it back  , but the 110 was almost a Griffith 430 instead!!)

Originally I had told her I wanted nothing for my 40th, as it's just another day.
I'm not one for celebrating anything, didn't bother for my 18th, or 21st & didn't have a stag-night  (I stopped in with Jack & Gypsy by myself)

I even usually work on my birthdays to negate the risk of a surprise party, but, after 20years Joanne knows better than that

However, this was found.
When she initially pressed the matter of a ' present', I told her I fancied a day firing/driving a traction engine, but they're expensive & far between

the loon:

Admittedly it was very, very, manoeuvrable & could park in minute spaces

On the flip-side, it was absolutely hopeless in the mud that usually acted as a car-park at Cyclo-Cross & mountain-bike races

Mind you I have asked SWMBO if I can have a noble for christmas.

When I lived down south a mate of mine worked as a valet/carsalesman/general dogsbody in a small local garage and he had use of the "company van" a little pick up similar to the one hamster drove(think it was a honda acty or some similar name)
about 4-5 of us used to all pile in the back of the pick up and have  a run to the local beach or woods.
that tonight has bought back some memories  not all of them good.

There was a major accident with one of these(pick up version)when I was a kid.
3 youngsters where killed when one rolled when they where on there way back from a party. The van was being used to take people off the beach up a short track to a local farm where the party goers where camping, about 3 mile round trip.
The driver was sober but lost control on a bend.
I knew one of the victims as he had the alternative saturday shift in the same butchers shop I worked in.It could easily have been a lot worse though as there where 12 in the back - the police put this down as a major contributor to the accident
