FITTING 33/12.50/15 TO DISCO1
Budgie:
--- Quote from: "bullfrog" ---Its just plucking up the courage to chop half the rear door out

Same goes for the 3 door, cos if you make a mistake then it's the whole side you have to replace!!
The Rangie Spares ones, from Devon 4x4, come with good instructions that allow for a little cutting errors though!
chuggaman:
--- Quote from: "bullfrog" ---It means you have to remove either a large portion of the rear door and arch which is not quite a simple as just cutting out on a 3 door to fit spats OR raise the vehicle 4/5" as this is the height required to stop tyres catching on standard bodywork . :?
You could fit them with a 2" lift but they will catch the moment the vehicle leans or articulates.
I have 33"s on my RRC and have had them on a 3 door disco and the arches are the same size.
3 door rear arches are similar to the fronts on any LR where as 5 door rears involve cutting through the steel frame and ally skin then reatatching them and making sure the rear door still has a seal.
You also have to reatatch the rear wing higher as the mounts were where the arch was cut.

not quite that much surgery to fit 5 door grp arches....the grp door sections cover the cavity cut out of the rear door.
but they are hard to fit !!!!!
a bit like a 3d jigsaw puzzle

bullfrog:
Are they flexi or fibreglass/plastic ?
I am opposed to the fibreglass/plastic ones as I dont want to go to the trouble of all the cutting only to smash on !
I am hoping to fit some defender ones as A they are cheaper to replace and B flex so should not brake as often.
