THINGS TO DO / SEE IN NORTH YORKSHIRE

Going on holibags to Scarborough with the family on Sat 5th Aug - will spend 5th and 6th at Pickering steam fair and Sat 12th at Driffield steam show
Anyone got any ideas what to do in between ?
Don't mind doing the touristy thing round Whitby /Robin Hood's bay etc for a day or so but hope some locals may know of other things/places to visit
Been going for a few years now so already done Flamingo Land, Eden Camp
Never been to York - worth a visit ?

Yorks good but too toristy for my likeing (full of american tourists most of the time)
If you do go to York take plenty of cash as because its a tourist city its not cheep  :evil:

Why not try and get across to langdale quest for the day if your going in your l/r or rent one of there zukes  :?:

York is definately worth a visit. Its a great place for adults & kids, you won't find anywhere else that concentrates so much on the history of the place.Very interesting!!

have you been to the lang dale quest off road centre take your own motor round its a good day out. or you could visit my mam for a cupa and some choc cake. :D  :D  :D welcome to north yorkshire hope you have a nice time here. :)  :)  :)
