anyone tell me where the vin plate is hiding on a series 2a please

Should be on the bulkhead somewhere, on round heater models its sort of above the gear lever, on later ones with a square heater its in the dash by the steering column.

Boldy going where no one-ton has gone before...

the plate on my s3 was a piece of plastic under the bonnet!
but cars pre 1980 dont need a manufactures vin plate so just stamp your own.

should the chassis be numbered on a series 2a? if so where? The vin plate on mine is on the bulkhead.

Front right dumbiron on the driver's side of the dumbiron.  That's where the Series 2A chassis number is stamped on the chassis.

strangely There appears to be aplate weled ed over that location, My SIIa is starting to look my Lemonish, I shall grind it off and find out.

Dont be surprised if it is missing.  If the front dumbirons have been repaired or replaced, then it is likely the chassis number has gone from there.
