non return valve ?

Ok folks I need a solution.

I have disconected the engine breather pipe from the filter. Fitted a blanking plate over the hole. This left me with a problem. If i get into water that is upto bonnet level I am going to get an engine full of water

I have run an extension pipe up the outside of the snorkal for the time being but it looks ugly and the paintwork is getting a bit oily.

What I want is some form of none return valve that will let low pressure air out but close if it encounters water trying to enter. I doubt the breather will generate enough pressure to keep the water out.

Oh yeah, I do know it is illegal to vent the engine gasses to atmoshere, it is only temp. honest govner.

Cant you put it into a can thats upside down so it acts like a diving bell?

illegal to vent engine gasses to atmosfear?  didnt know that, you best tell that to the fleet of 200 generators i run, there all to atmosfear.

but for your solution, vauxhall frontera 2.5 VM engine. has a non-return valve on the breather. its made by MANN the filter company, so you my be able to buy it direct.
