Should there be a cover over the engine on my '92 200tdi?  I was going to pick a s/hand one up from somewhere, but i've been told that they came in with the 300s

they are fitted to both 200tdi and 300tdi really simple as they just sit on top only held on place by the oil filler cap :)

i think they are for sound deadoning not sure they do anything else
 :?
they go for around 20-30 quid on eblag

Right on all counts, however there is a difference with from the 200 to the 300 though
