im going to fit power steering to my defender ,the pas im putting on is off another defender ,but is the mounting bracket different on the j19 engine as opposed to the j12 or are they the same ? and what modifications do i have to do ... :?:  thanks in advance

Same AFAIK... the same bracket is also used on the Defender 200Tdi.

You then just need all the bits...

I.e. the correct crank damper, the pas bottle and pipes, the pas pump, the correct steering box, the lower steering column (I think) and I seem to remember the alternator is different - but may be wrong.

And some pas fluid....

I think that's it.

i have everything needed for the job as i took it off the td i stripped, just wasnt sure about the bracket  :lol: thanks what i am having trouble with is the crank pulley on mine  :roll: it doesnt want to come off without a fight :lol:

A bigger bar....

If you get stuck, I've got all the correct damper locking tools and puller... rather than doing the lovely breaker bar on the chassis and bounce the starter motor trick.
