Defender rear worklight

Could anybody enlighten me as to where i can connect up electrically a rear worklight for a 2002 defender 90.
I was thinking about connecting it into the interior light circuit.
veiws would be much appreciated

If you used the interior light circuit, you should use a relay. The switch may not be up to the job otherwise.

Then wire it through another switch inside the rear door, so you can switch it on and off from the rear. Mine switch is mounted above the rear door, on the inside, next the the lamp mount. This way, you can avoid it coming on every time you switch on the interior light!

Does the interior light come on when you open the rear door? I'm not used to these new-fangled high tech cars  :)

Sorry, I lied! The switch inside the rear is for the interior strip light! I have the rear work lamps operated from a dash mounted switch....... but the idea of adding one in the rear is not so bad.... wish I'd thought of that  :)

Don't know about your model. Coz it's a bit new for me. But, T'old lass has a "spare" permenant and a "spare" ignition live run with the rear lighting loom. Drop the cover off the rear lights and have a proddle with a meter.  I actually ran mine off the rear heated window circuit. The element was broke and I never used it anyway. (prefer to watch where I'm going rather than where I've been) so disconected it and ran the wire through for the rear worklight. Has the advantage of already having a relay and a dash mounted switch.

I have a demister on my lightweight, I roll the canvas up  8)

If the worse happens run a new switched, relay feed down the vehicle to the rear
Or tap into the existing light feed you have, depending on the power of the light you are fitting

Nothing to do with rear work lights, But I carry a good
head torch, Very handy to have, Or should I say very
