What rear diff guard?
« on: June 16, 2006, 19:03:46 »
:) Hi, I wanted to get him indoors a rear diff guard for his 55 plate 110 double cab.  Went to local independent specialist, gave year and model and they got a Salisbury rear guard in which did not fit, took it back and they reordered a guard from QT which still did not fit.  Is there a rear diff guard available and is it correct that the rear axle is the same as the P38 RR?
Cheers, Annabelle

The rear axle is based around a 38A... but is not identical.  It does use the same 4 pin diff, but the axle case is modifed.

AFAIK the only diffguard avaliable is the QT one at the moment... and they definetly do one to fit!  had some on the stand on the Eastnor show.

Yes just ask QT for their P38 rear diff guard for 110.

My 53 Plate Double Cab has a QT fitted, AFAIK it's the Rover heavy duty / Wolf rear axle ....................  it was a bit of a bu$$er to fit though ..........  needed a bit of attention with an angle grinder to stop it fouling the prop and the holes bolting it to the side if the diff had to be enlarged a bit

 Hmmm, the QT fitted like a glove on my Disco but really did not want to go on the 110, Skywalker - do you have a part number for the QT you have?

Just phone Dave at QT... he will know which one you need.  And it'll probably be slightly cheaper straight from them, rather than through a supplier.  Also means, if you do have any problems you can go straight back to him.

Don't have a part number but it's the one shown here (Scroll down to the bottom of the page)

In fairnesss, although it did'nt bolt straight on exactly, it only took about an hour or so to fit including the slight ammendments.
